Plant Based Vibes | How It Changed My Life

Hi guys, I just wanted to share a quick post about being a plant based eater. I feel that a lot of people have a misconception of what it actually is. Plant based doesn’t necessarily mean being a vegan/vegetarian(although it can for some, you’ll see why at the end of this paragraph), it means eating MORE foods derived from plants, including vegetables, whole grains, legumes and fruits, with few or no animal products. 

I’ve been on a plant-based journey for a few years now. I have become very critical with the products I use, and for good reason. All of my products are organic and non-toxic. I made this change because I want to be the healthiest me I can be. So I made the commitment to do just that.

This health journey has positively impacted me in so many ways. My hair and skin has flourished TREMENDOUSLY. My mindset, and outlook on life/every day things continuously grows just from the constant researching of healthy holistic lifestyle choices. My energy became strongly positive. This lifestyle gave me redemption internally and externally. I’m very grateful that I made this transition for myself. It’s the best thing I could have ever done.

I’m not going to lie, before I made this transition, I put my body through a lot lol. I used to be a junk food cupcake fried food soul food any kinda food and gummy bear FREAK. I never was a soda drinker but baby I could drink jugs of juice and water was only consumed at after school practices smh. I don’t even look at any of those things the same anymore (I do have a cupcake every other week though, it keeps me sane). I have completely turned my health around I’m always in the health food section now, its just who I am now because of all the conscious decisions I made to always take the healthier route and it sticking.

I would like for everyone, friends family strangers, to make this transition but I do know its not a change that can be made overnight and that everyone will not want to do what I do. But I’m here to help you make those changes, but I will also always be for and encourage anyone to do what they feel is best for them. All I ask is that you make yourself a priority in whatever journey you decide to embark on. Don’t let anyone/anything cease you from becoming a better you.

If you’re looking to incorporate more plant foods in your diet, try meals with beans and quinoa as your base, more raw salads with kale and start making smoothies. Don’t lookat “plant based” as an “ism” or a restricted diet. More raw fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds and much less red meat, fried foods, processed foods, salt and sugar. Just be a conscious eater.
