What we put into our bodies matter. We must recognize the benefits that can be achieved by eating well, how it affects our energy levels, and how we feel about ourselves. Eating healthy gives me a positive outlook on life in general, and it should for everyone. It honestly brings me great anxiety to not have a healthy meal choice available to me, I literally will freak out. But anyways..
What I’ve learned throughout my journey is that cooking can kill healthy enzymes and damage nutrients found in foods, so I’m always looking for a quick and easy way to eat raw foods. Hence, this is why I’m always making juices and smoothies. If you think about it, you would have to eat a lot of spinach in a salad to get the same amount of nutrients that you can by juicing. All you have to do is take a handful of spinach, throw in some other fruits and veggies and away you go. You have a nutrient rich drink right at your fingertips.
So what are the benefits?
- Cleanse and detox your body, as well as balance acid and alkaline levels, helping to prevent disease and heal existing health problems.
- Help you replace your caffeine fix with a natural energy boost.
- Give you energy form the antioxidants and phytochemicals present.
- Provide a healthy snack or a meal replacement.
- Help purify your blood because they are packed full of vitamins, enzymes, and chlorophyll.
Also, smoothies contain fiber which is important to help the body eliminate waste, as it cleans your digestive tract and colon. Having a smoothie a day can yield such incredible results for your body!
Go get a blender, head to your local farmers market or grocery store and buy a plethora of fruit and veggies to supply all those different nutrients to your body!
P.S. I know it can be hard to get used to the “green taste”. But don’t worry, that’s why I’m here. I’ll be sharing my favorite smoothie recipes that are pleasant to the taste buds starting with this one:
- 2 handfuls spinach
- A handful of raspberries
- A handful of blueberries
- 2 oranges, peeled
Blend the ingredients with 1/2 cup coconut water. This smoothie is full of vitamins and lots of iron. It’s blood nourishing, skin enhancing, and cleansing.
I’ll be sharing more smoothie recipes, of course, and a 7 day juice cleanse with you all soon so don’t forget to subscribe! Also, you may need to go buy a juicer if you don’t already have one.
