One of my favorite ways to boost the appearance of my skin has always been juicing certain fruits and veggies known to have exceptional skin health benefits. Juicing has many many benefits, the most important being its a faster more efficient way to absorb health boosting nutrients naturally found in fruits and veggies. It provides a way to access digestive enzymes typically locked away in the fiber matrix of whole fruits. So sidenote: there is no need to go and buy digestive enzyme supplements when you juice. Don’t let the folks at the health food store tell you otherwise, I usually go in there knowing more than them as it is.
When it comes to the skin, this juice is the total package. All you need are these 2 fruits and this 1 veggie:
Cantaloupe is the star of the show in this juice. It is rich in vitamin C, which helps in forming collagen, an important protein needed for making skin tissues, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels. It also boosts immunity and is a powerful antioxidant. Since it is high in vitamin C, it helps boost the body’s immunity by fighting free radicals and ensuring that one gets a healthy, glowing complexion. Cantaloupe is also loaded with folic acid, which is known to regenerate dead cells and gives one a healthy skin. It also keeps wrinkles at bay, maintains skin elasticity and helps boost collagen. It’s rich in beta carotene therefore it helps maintain healthy eyesight. When absorbed by the body beta carotene gets converted into vitamin A, which is an essential nutrient for healthy eyes. Also ladies, regular consumption of cantaloupe during menstruation reduces cramps and regulates menstrual flow. The list of benefits of cantaloupe goes on and on.
Carrots provide antioxidant beta-carotene which is great for skin. However, these delicious root vegetables are the source not only of beta-carotene, but also of a wide variety of antioxidants and other health-supporting nutrients.
Oranges (in this case tangelos), as we all should know, are a great source of vitamin C. Vitamin C currently is the latest fad in beauty, everyone is using skin products that say to have it as its main ingredient because it evens skin tone and brightens your complexion naturally. Giving you a healthy glow. Tangelos are rich in dietary fiber and a variety of essential vitamins and minerals.
All you need to do is juice the ingredients above, for 1 glass juice: 1 cantaloupe, 3 oranges, and 2 carrots.
If you would like to make 2 glasses, double the amount for 1 glass, and so on and so on.
