I promised that I would share hair products that have helped my hair flourish along my natural hair journey. As I’ve said before I got my first hair relaxer when I was in second grade due to my dad not knowing any better, and stopped getting them my junior year of high school. For so long after that I struggled with having dry frizzy hair, split ends, and stubborn hair that just wouldn’t grow and I couldn’t find any products that helped during that transition period, which is what led me to start making products on my own. Fortunately, my hair snapped back quite nicely and is now waist length when straightened (shrinkage is crazy), and I can definitely thank my own natural hair products for this, and now Camille Rose for keeping my natural hair in check and maintaining its manageability.
Side note: a lot of people have asked me why I still buy hair products when I make my own. The answer is simple, I haven’t mastered making a complete all natural hair care regimen yet, so far I only can make hair butters and hair oil blends. Shampoos, conditioners, and other hair care items are not at the top of my to-do list right now, especially with the number of great natural hair products on the market right now.
I randomly came across this line in Target one day and decided that I would give it a try. Everything on the ingredient label struck my interest immediately. Camille Rose is now definitely one of my favorite natural hair care lines, amongst others that I will be sharing with you all soon. I’m always attracted to hair products that are made with all natural and vegan ingredients because it works the best for my curls, products with alcohol make my hair very very dry (it will make all hair types dry as well). If you couldn’t already tell, I like to support businesses that are similar to my own hobbies. The particular products I’m sharing today are definitely must haves, your hair will thank you. With that being said…
Let’s get into my fave products! *prices listed are from Target, they may differ from the Camille Rose website.
- Cocoa Nibs & Honey Ultimate Hair Growth Serum, $16
This serum is the most moisturizing hair serum I have EVER used. To use, I apply it directly to my scalp, massage it in, and work it down to my ends. Sometimes I won’t even follow up with a moisturizer if I’m putting my hair into a sleek bun, it’s that good. It makes my hair extremely shiny and soft. I love it. *Helpful tip for all my curly girls out there, invest in a Denman brush. Tracee Ellis Ross’ stylist used this on her hair in a hair tutorial and my life hasn’t been the same since.
2. Curl Love Moisture Milk, $14
This is a softening leave-in conditioning cream that smells like vanilla, my boyfriend always sits and smells my hair when I use this lol. If you have dry hair, this will instantly moisturize it. I apply this after the hair growth serum and either twist my hair up, or leave it be. My curls are left defined, soft, silky, and frizz free.
3. Sweet Ginger Cleansing Rinse, $12
The smell of this rinse is so amazing y’all, ginger and lemon peel. Not only does it smell good, it works. Whenever I’m washing my tresses, I section my hair into 4. Curly hair is easier to wash in my opinion when you deal with one section at a time and it guarantees all your hair is being equally penetrated and cleansed. This cleanser doesn’t strip your hair of any moisture, which is always a plus. Nothing worse than a cleanser that leaves your hair feeling dry and straw like.
4. Moroccan Pear Conditioning Custard, $10
This conditioning custard is a blend of nourishing oils to soften and protects the hair’s moisture barrier. This leaves my hair soft and silky smooth and smells soooo good. Honestly, all of her products do. It also leaves my hair very manageable so styling it afterwards is never an issue.
5. Herbal Tea Seal & Soften, $14
This product does exactly what it implies, it seals the moisture in your hair, and softens it. This leaves my curls pillow soft.
All 5 of these products work amazing together. You definitely need to try them! Flourish curly girls, and guys. Don’t forget to get a Denman brush (:
