You guys know that whenever I have free time, I am in my kitchen either making all natural skin or hair products. I find it to be very therapeutic, and honestly things that I make at home work better for my skin, with the exception of a few off-the-shelf skin care products. I made the perfect moisturizing, smoothing, and brightening duo for ALL skin types, a brown sugar facial scrub, and another facial serum, this time adding apricot oil.
Brown Sugar Facial Scrub
All you need is:
- 3 tbsp. brown sugar
- 3 tbsp. manuka honey
- 1 tbsp. grapeseed oil
- 1 drop of an essential oil *lavender* of your choice (optional)
Like all exfoliators, this brown sugar facial scrub helps to remove dead skin cells from your face, gives you smooth skin that feels AMAZING, keeps your skin healthy, helps unclog your pores, hydrate and soothe your skin, and gives you a beautiful glow.
I use honey a lot in every facial scrub that I make because it is one of nature’s best moisturizers. Grapeseed oil is non-comedogenic (meaning it won’t clog your pores), unlike coconut oil, and is known to treat acne, tighten skin, help get rid of dark circles around the eyes, moisturize, reduce scars, restore collagen, and fight aging. Don’t that sound good??
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and place in a small air tight container (I buy all my jars and bottles for serums from the container store).
How to use: apply this scrub to clean skin and massage using circular motions. Rinse off the scrub with warm water, and pat dry your face with a clean face towel. Then follow with and apply this serum…
This is the same serum from my previous post, All natural facial serum | Say HELLO TO CLEAR SKIN!, this time just adding 1 tbsp. of apricot oil.
Apricot oil is rich in vitamin K, which is also known to reduce dark circles. It also contains vitamin E and omega 6 fatty acids that together with vitamin K, nourish skin deeply. It also restores a healthy glow to the skin, radiant beauty!
