Trader Joe’s is definitely one of my favorite places to shop! I really enjoy coming here to re-up on groceries and find new things to try. It’s basically an indoor farmers market so it has tons of organic produce and healthy food choices that are really really good. I get flowers for my room here every Sunday, and faithfully buy their store brand food items for days I just really don’t feel like, have the time, or the energy to cook. This is not to be confused as a grocery haul, this is a mini Trader Joe’s haul showing you some of my fave store brand food items. I’ll be doing a full out grocery haul next time I go, which will be very soon because I’m there all the time.
Their shredded hash browns and whole grain waffles are life! Since they’re already cooked/prepped it makes for an easy breakfast. I just heat the hash browns in a skillet, and pop the waffles in the toaster or the microwave. I use the maple agave syrup blend on the waffles. (I also use this syrup to make hot cacao! A separate post on how to make it will be posted).
The vegetable panang curry frozen dinner heats up as if you made it yourself (all their frozen dinners do actually) and the quality of the ingredients are so rich its crazy, and it has nothing but healthy ingredients. I also add my lil creole fixins to it to spice it up a lil because I like my food extra seasoned and extra spicy.
The superfood pilaf is a mix of quinoa, sweet potatoes, kale, and carrots. This is where the trader joe’s sriracha comes in clutch, and also my slap ya mama seasoning (:
The mandarin orange chicken is to. die. for. (I’m currently making it now while I’m making this post lol). What I like about this one in particular is that the sauce isn’t frozen onto the chicken. They have it to where you bake the chicken first and heat the sauce separately to pour it on after the chicken comes out the oven, which I think helps with how bomb it comes out. The sauce is also super good; its mandarin orange and ginger. This food item was also voted as a Trader Joe’s customer favorite so that should pretty much tell you all you need to know.
The coconut water with aloe vera juice is great for smoothies. I also use it as a spritzer for my hair. Coconut water tames frizzy hair and hydrates both your hair and scalp. Aloe vera juice has internal benefits for the body. It contains leaf pulp that is rich in natural nutrients and fiber. This well-known herbal remedy also has many benefits for internal healing, cleansing and repair when ingested as a nutritional drink. It’s also a good conditioner for hair as well. It adds shine, controls frizz, and strengthens your mane.
The organic coconut aminos seasoning sauce is another one of my favorites (amino acids is an organic compound, and it serves as a building block for proteins). I use it in my ground turkey to add extra flavor. I also use it in my stir fry to give the veggies a little more flavor and to add a lil extra “protein”. There are no soy ingredients in this product, which makes it perfect for flavoring in paleo recipes.
Now, the raw and Turkish honey. I use the raw honey in my fresh face masks, and I use the Turkish honey as a natural sweetener in my teas and coffee. Another fave item of mine that is not depicted in the photos is the Trader Joe’s coconut creamer. I use it in my coffee and lattes. It’s a great alternative if you’re looking to cut dairy out of your diet like I did.
I almost forgot to add (hence why this one is in a pic by itself lol), coconut milk! I’m kind of done with almond milk because I feel it doesn’t have as much nutritional value as other non-dairy milks do. And plus I eat almonds everyday so I don’t really need it as a milk I guess. Anyways, coconut milk is a great source of vitamins D & B12 and contains medium chain fatty acids which help support metabolism and also making it a natural source of energy. I use it in my smoothies and sometimes I’ll use it in my hair in one of my conditioner mixes.
That’s all the items I have to share today, later there will be more I get tons of stuff from there. I didn’t want to take this a super lengthy post. But if you decide to try them tell me what you think!
